Poetry Unit- Introduction
Before delving into the craft of poetry, it is important to just read it, hear it, and enjoy it. To begin this unit, please complete this introductory activity.
Poetic Devices
Throughout this unit, you will be reading and analyzing a variety of songs and poems by a variety of artists and poets. While doing so, you will need to be able to recognize the poetic devices employed in the songs and poems and be able to determine why or how the author uses these within his/her piece of art. Below, you will find a chart of poetic devices to define. You and a partner will be assigned two terms to make two separate videos in iMovie (not to exceed 60 seconds) about (due Friday). For each term, you should include the following in a video:
1. A definition of the term
2. An example of the term being used in literature
3. Audio (voice over?)
4. A visual representation of your definition & example
